Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is the oldest house of the retreat, and it is positioned right next to the main reception barn, providing easy access to its amenities.

The house hosts a bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a double sleeper sofa, and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and toilet, and another toilet.  The original wooden beams, the traditional wooden porch and the carefully restored furniture all contribute to its unique atmosphere.

Amenities include Wi-Fi and a small garden with flowers and plants, just a few steps from the reception barn but separate from it.

From the Past

For 57 years, this house was home to Vilma György (pictured). Originally built by György János, the home saw generations of family life, hard work, and laughter. When Vilma passed the key to Abod Retreat in 2020, she also passed on a legacy of hospitality. Today, the house keeps that same warmth — a place that feels gently lived-in, not staged.
