A Village Retreat Rooted in Time
Abod Retreat is located in the small village of Székelyabod, in the heart of Transylvania — a place shaped by silence, land, and human presence, where life still follows natural rhythms rather than schedules.
The retreat includes six carefully restored traditional farmhouses and six tiny house units, scattered throughout the village, along with a central barn that serves as our reception, coffee bar, breakfast area, and intimate event space. Each home preserves its original character while offering quiet comfort, warmth, and simplicity.
As you step into one of our restored houses, the outside world gradually fades. Every corner carries traces of village life, while contemporary amenities ensure an effortless stay. Walk through lush greenery, explore the wild landscapes of Transylvania, or simply settle into the rare luxury of silence. Abod Retreat offers something increasingly hard to find today — a quiet, simple sense of belonging many of us deeply long for, even if we rarely realise it.

How Your Stay Supports the Village
Abod Retreat was created as part of a broader effort to support rural life in Transylvania. The retreat is closely connected to the Pyrus Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to rural rehabilitation, heritage preservation and sustainable village life.
As part of this long-term commitment, the operating company of Abod Retreat allocates 3% of its booking revenue to support initiatives carried out by the Pyrus Association. These include the restoration of traditional homes, the preservation of local heritage, and community-based projects that help keep village life alive.
This contribution is part of how Abod Retreat operates. Guests are not asked to donate separately — their presence alone creates impact.
